Three pupils have been invited by the UK Mathematics Trust to attend a prestigious IMO training camp at Trinity College, Cambridge over the Easter Remedy.
Adavya Goyal (Sixth Form), Haolin Zhao (Upper Eighth) and Neil Prabhu (Upper Eighth) all received invitations following their outstanding performances in the British Mathematical Olympiad (round 2). Only the top 20 or so school pupils in the whole of the UK are invited, so to have three Paulines at the camp for the second year in a row is exceptional.
This would seem an appropriate moment to acknowledge the amazing work of Dr Zhivko Stoyanov in preparing these (and a myriad of other) boys for the maths problem solving Olympiads. As well as two sessions per week during term time (including 3+ hours on Friday afternoon with SPGS also in attendance), there are additional online sessions that continue during the holidays. The collaborative and supportive, yet challenging, environment that is fostered during these sessions is the epitome of Pauline scholarship and continue to deliver brilliant results.
